My dog Jimbeaux came home today!!! He is a yellow lab, and he is two years old! Every other month we send Jimbeaux off to hunting and retrieving school. When we send him off, he normally stays for 2-3 months. There, he learns how to retrieve and learns tricks. While he is there, the trainer brings him to all these kinds of competitions to get his titles. In his level that he is in, there are five titles to compete for; Started Pass, Started Hunting Retriver(SHR) Hunting Retriever, Hunting Retriever Champion and Grand Master Hunting Retriever. Jimbeaux has completed all except for his Grand, which he will compete for in November. After he has completed all five, he can then move onto the next level. He is the pride and joy of my parents…HAHA.

Well…I’m not very good at critiqing art and relating it back to modern lit, but I’ll do the best I can! To me, the energy that this piece of art is giving off, ismixed with turmoil but at the same time i feel relaxed. The sky in the background, represents turmoil in the world and how everything is just in turns. The use of warm colors mixed with a few cool colors, to me describes turmoil and danger. The people who are standing in front represent the future. They stand there looking into the distance, showing us how they view the future and what to come of it. I think that the brick path that wanders to the sky, is the path that they are about to take. The scenery( the grass and trees) are part of the relaxing energy the picture gives off.

I was really excited for the first LSU game, though it was originally scheduled to be an afternoon game at the end of August, I was still excited for football season. Then, I found out that because of Gustav, the game was moved to 10 in the morning, which temperature wise was better. I was excited to walk into the stadium for the first time in months, feeling the rush and energy from the fans and eating the best hot dogs ever! The best feeling is when the band plays the fight song and everyone sings along, with pride. Demolishing our first opponents isn’t such a bad feeling either..

For my outside reading book, I picked “Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchid”. I find this book interesting so far. Right now, its an easy read, which i hope for it to stay that way. I definitely like how this book is not serious at all, I like to read comical books every now and then. I expect this book to stay pretty easy going and I expect many surprises to come from this book. I think the research paper will be easy to finish as long as I pay close attention to detail, which I can already tell is a major aspect for this book.
